Braided Composites
Tubular Braided Composite Manufacturing
Braided composites are manufactured using a device known as a Maypole braider. Yarns are interlaced onto a mandrel in order to form the tubular braid preform.
3D DIC Measurement of Tubular Braided Composites
Three dimensional digital image correlation (3D DIC) is a full field strain measurement method that uses cameras in order to optical measure displacement and strain. 3D DIC is highly useful for evaluating the repeating strain field of tubular braided composites.
